On Thursday, the International Monetary Fund announced that it had reached a preliminary agreement with the Lebanese authorities on an aid plan worth $3 billion over four years. Ramirez Rigo, who headed the IMF delegation to Lebanon, said in a statement carried by Agence France-Presse, that if the plan is approved by the Fund’s management and board, the aid sent to Lebanon will fall within the framework of “supporting the authorities’ reform plan to restore growth and financial stability.” .
