Ethiopia's ambassador to the United States and former Ethiopian Water Minister Seleshi Bekele announced that Ethiopia is interested in resuming negotiations with Egypt and Sudan on the Renaissance Dam.

The Associated Press reported that Bekele made his remarks during a meeting with the US special envoy to the Horn of Africa, Mike Hammer.

A statement issued by the Ethiopian Foreign Ministry said today, Friday, that Bekele highlighted "Ethiopia's interest in resuming the tripartite negotiations led by the African Union on the Grand Ethiopian Renaissance Dam."
