The recent floods and torrential rains that hit Pakistan have left hundreds dead and tens of thousands displaced, as well as massive damage to infrastructure, after a third of the country was submerged in water. The floods destroyed more than 3,450 kilometers of vital roads, and entire villages were isolated.

In the face of this disaster, the UAE, as usual, came to the relief of those affected, in line with its keenness to extend a hand of humanitarian and relief aid to the needy and those affected by natural disasters and crises in various parts of the world.

Immediately after the disaster, Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, President of the UAE, directed the provision of urgent relief assistance to Pakistan, including all humanitarian relief services to the displaced from the areas that witnessed torrential rains and floods, to enhance their ability to overcome the challenges they face. The UAE relief aid includes about 3,000 tons of food supplies, as well as tons of medical and pharmaceutical supplies and tents to shelter the affected.
