The Ministry of Energy and Infrastructure announced cooperation in establishing the UAE Center for Reducing Carbon Emissions in the Maritime Sector, the first of its kind in the Middle East and North Africa region, and the fourth in the world, in a pioneering step that enhances the UAE's position as a global center of excellence in the field of sustainability and transformation in the energy sector. This pioneering initiative, developed in collaboration with the Norwegian Classification Authority (DNV), represents a milestone for the UAE and the MENA region in general, and will set a new benchmark for marine decarbonization efforts around the world. The ministry indicated in a statement yesterday that the agreement was signed and the occasion was celebrated at the headquarters of the International Maritime Organization in the British capital, London
