Hamas is one of the most prominent Palestinian groups known internationally. Many hesitate to describe it as a Palestinian resistance movement, while others consider it a terrorist organization. Hamas was founded in 1987 during the First Palestinian Intifada (Intifada of Stones), and since then, it has played a prominent role in the Israeli-Palestinian conflict. This article aims to analyze the Hamas movement and its relations with terrorism from a political perspective. Hamas was founded as part of the Muslim Brotherhood in Palestine and arose in the context of the Israeli-Palestinian conflict. Hamas considers itself a resistance movement aiming to liberate Palestine and establish a Palestinian state on the historic land of Palestine. Hamas relies on comparing Islamic foundations for resistance and liberation. Since its founding, Hamas has witnessed developments and changes in its strategy and political positions.
