During the meeting, the UAE President discussed with the US Secretary of State the relations of cooperation and joint work between the two countries and ways to enhance them in various fields in order to achieve their mutual interests. The meeting also touched on a number of regional and international issues of common concern and developments in the Middle East region, especially developments in the occupied Palestinian territories and the serious repercussions of the crisis in the Gaza Strip on peace, stability and security in the entire region. The UAE President stressed the need to work towards a ceasefire in the Gaza Strip to protect the lives of civilians, and to ensure the provision of permanent and safe mechanisms to deliver humanitarian relief aid to the residents of the Strip without obstruction, and to prevent their displacement.
